A beautiful collection of Sashiko ornaments by Karina Tanabe, a London based Sashiko artist. She collects leaves, twigs and pieces of fallen bark from her local area or travels. She wraps each found objects in old Japanese fabrics she's been collecting and stitches all around it using the Sashiko technique.
Materials: Antique fabric (boro cotton, Oshima Tsumugi, Ryukyu kasuri sourced in Japan), scrap fabric(cotton & linen from UK), various Japanese Sashiko thread, various vintage mohair
