Made in London
A trademark piece by Jochen Holz, a German glass maker based in London. Created using the traditional Venetian Incalmo technique of fusing pieces of hot glass, these tumblers feature a subtly warped body and three-coloured design.
Jochen's work is informed by an ongoing exploration of the possibilities and restrictions of working with glass. Each piece contains evidence of the making process, with a spontaneity and playfulness rarely seen in functional glassware.
The design approach is lead by the making process and the flow of hot glass. Navigating the possibilities and restrictions of the technique and material. Every piece is unique, individually considered and finished, made from durable and heat resistant borosilicate glass.
