Led by designer Takeshi Mitani, Mittan makes "modern folk clothing" based on histories of clothes and fabrics from the world. By reinterpreting the two-dimensional structure and combining it with the functionality of natural materials, Mittan aims to create long-lasting clothes that are not bound by the transient trends of the times. They work very closely with the manufactures and often develop original fabrics.

Using 100% baby cashmere harvested from young goats less than one year old from Inner Mongolia. The average fineness is 13.6 microns, which is a very fine fiber equivalent to Super200's. Baby cashmere wool is soft, smooth and lightweight, yet has excellent heat retention due to the internal cavities of the fibers.

It is made using WHOLEGARMENT®, a seam-free knitwear knitted in three dimensions directly from the knitting machine. There is no difference between the front and back cut, so it can be worn both way. The shoulder slope is horizontal, and the neckline is straight. The neck part can be folded back or worn as is. When the ribs are stretched, by running them through a steam iron or water, it will return to its original shape.
