Mittan Wild Silk Scarf, Brown

£135.00

Made in Japan

Led by designer Takeshi Mitani, Mittan makes "modern folk clothing" based on histories of clothes and fabrics from the world. By reinterpreting the two-dimensional structure and combining it with the functionality of natural materials, Mittan aims to create long-lasting clothes that are not bound by the transient trends of the times. They work very closely with the manufactures and often develop original fabrics.

These scarves are made from Tasar silkworms, wild wilkworms inhabit in mid-east India. Fabric is woven at a factory in Shiga, which is the only silk spinning factory remains in Japan, using the tasar silk yarn for the weft and the unrefined high count raw silk as the warp. Both yarn are stronger than normal silk yarn with glossy feel, making it a firm fabric resilience for daily use yet soften with use without sagging.

Approx. 75cm×200cm

Material Composition: 100% Wild Silk, Natural dye

Please gently hand wash at 30°C. When new, this silk may feel slightly stiff but when washed it becomes soft and fluid.

Please avoid mixing with light colours to prevent colour transfer when washing.
