Potter Asuka Juba lives in countryside of Japan with her husband Tenshin Juba who is also a potter and their children. They grow crops in their field and cook them in her earthen ware on a daily basis. From the rice straws, Asuka makes her glaze. Every piece is wood fired, you can see the trace of ashes fallen on them during firing. Most of her pieces are wood fired in a hand build kiln by their home and studio.
